About this role
Maintenance Manager - Decatur, IL
Job Description: Maintenance Manager - Decatur, IL This is a full-time, exempt position.
Position Summary This position leads the strategy, talent, and day-to-day execution of the largest and most complex maintenance organization in ADM's Specialty Ingredients network. Maintenance responsibilities include mechanical, instrumentation and electrical maintenance. As the Maintenance Manager for ADM's flagship Decatur Protein facility — an approximately 350-person, 24/7 operation processing Soybeans into value-added protein products — this leader owns safety, reliability, and cost performance for one of the Specialty Ingredients network most capital-intensive, highest-throughput sites, with approximately 150 ADM and contractor colleagues reporting through the organization. Based on the scale and visibility of the Decatur East Plant, this role sets the standard other ADM maintenance Specialty Ingredients organizations are benchmarked against and is considered a strong pipeline for future growth into Regional Maintenance, RCM Lead, or Plant Superintendent roles with ADM. This is a senior plant leadership position that calls for a proven, high-caliber leader with a track record of building and running large, complex maintenance organizations — not simply executing an existing program. The ideal candidate has led maintenance or reliability functions at scale, influenced peers and senior leaders across a multi-site network, and is comfortable working in operations from the shop floor to the corporate boardroom. The Maintenance Manager will spend significant time in the field mentoring, auditing practices, and coaching their leadership team, while also representing Decatur East Plants maintenance functions at the plant and corporate level, combining their deep technical credibility in R&M systems, predictive/preventative programs and RCM best practices with the strategic judgment to prioritize capital investment, and the people leadership to build bench strength across multiple layers of our organization.
