Systems Engineer

Kitty Hawk Technologies is currently seeking a Systems Engineer with 5+ years of systems engineering experience in support of DoW engineering services to work in the Dahlgren, Virginia, area. Key Responsibilities: • Coordinate and conduct engagements with operational stakeholders from the Navy, combatant commands, and mission planning communities to determine their needs for threat mitigation analysis • Integrate threat mitigation analysis findings into systems engineering activities such as the CONOPS / use cases, requirements, design, verification, and technical reviews • Develop scenarios and design reference missions to inform threat mitigation analysis activities • Provide recommendations on how to employ weapon systems based on threat mitigation analysis • Coordinate with the threat mitigation analysis team to ensure they have the weapon system and operational information necessary to conduct their analysis • Communicate statuses, risks, and dependencies effectively to stakeholders and the sponsor
Required Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI or active Top Secret DoD clearance with SCI eligibility is necessary – U.S. Citizenship is required • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Science, or Math field • At least five years of systems engineering experience with emphasis on Integrated Product Team (IPT) support • Experience supporting requirements and concept development, integration engineering, and/or test engineering for DoW engineering programs
Desired Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in an Engineering, Science, or Math field • Knowledge of Naval Warfare, weapon systems, or strategic systems programs and architectures • Experience supporting threat analysis or missile modeling activities • Experience coordinating with uniformed personnel as part of mission engineering, training, or fleet exercise activities • Experience with model-based systems engineering • Experience with DOORS and/or Cameo Systems Modeler • Experience with AFSIM • Strong written and oral communication skills, the ability and willingness to multi-task, and capable of professionally addressing client questions and issues
Travel:
• Some limited travel may be required to support this position
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $105,000-$140,000 per year
