Job Description: What You’ll Do

• Engineer, size, and select valves, actuators, and instrumentation solutions that address complex process automation challenges. • Analyze customer requirements and applications to recommend effective technical and commercial solutions. • Prepare accurate proposals and quotations, follow up on opportunities, and help customers move projects forward. • Build trusted customer relationships by providing responsive support, technical guidance, and exceptional service throughout the sales cycle. • Partner with Account Managers, Order Management, Accounting, and Shop teams to support smooth order execution and a positive customer experience. • Collaborate with sales teams, subject matter experts, business unit leaders, Emerson, and other strategic suppliers to develop effective strategies for key opportunities. • Develop deep knowledge of Caltrol’s products, technologies, and automation solutions while continuously expanding your technical capabilities. • Contribute to revenue growth and help customers improve reliability, efficiency, safety, and operational performance through innovative automation solutions. What You’ll Bring

• A degree in engineering or another STEM-related field, relevant military technical experience, or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial technology, process automation, instrumentation, valves, or technical sales. • Previous technical sales or process automation experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to candidates with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn. • Experience interpreting technical specifications, drawings, data sheets, or customer requirements is preferred. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn quotation, CRM, and ERP systems. • Strong communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills, with the ability to translate technical information into practical solutions. • The ability to analyze technical information, apply sound business judgment, and recommend effective solutions. • A collaborative mindset and confidence working with customers, teammates, suppliers, and subject matter experts in a fast-paced environment. • A commitment to continuous learning, accountability, responsiveness, and delivering high-quality results.

Preferred Experience: Relevant military technical experience, or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial technology, process automation, instrumentation, valves, or technical sales.

Required Skills: Preferred Technical Experience

• Operation, maintenance, or troubleshooting of shipboard pumps, including:

• Centrifugal pumps • Positive displacement pumps • Feedwater pumps • Condensate pumps • Fuel oil transfer pumps • Lube oil pumps • Fire pumps • Seawater cooling pumps

• Experience with industrial and marine valve systems, including:

• Globe valves • Gate valves • Ball valves • Butterfly valves • Check valves • Pressure relief valves • Control valves • Pneumatically or hydraulically actuated valves

• Knowledge of steam, condensate, and boiler systems, including:

• Boilers and auxiliary boilers • Steam distribution systems • Heat exchangers • Condensers • Feedwater systems

• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including:

• Hydraulic power units (HPUs) • Hydraulic actuators • Pneumatic controls • Fluid power systems

• Experience reading and interpreting:

• P&IDs • Engineering drawings • Technical manuals • Equipment specifications • Maintenance procedures
