Job overview Ribblesdale ward is a 32 bedded rehabilitation Unit based in the heart of the Ribble Valley.

Clitheroe Community hospital is a GP lead unit taking patients with rehabilitation needs and complex discharge support.

The team consists of GP medical cover, full therapy team, Nursing staff, complex case management and in reach nutrition, tissue viability and pharmacy.

You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential. We are also seeking a candidate with a flexible approach and the ability to respond to the demands of a busy rehabilitation unit.

Main duties of the job You will need to be an excellent communicator who can engage professionally with patients, families, all allied health professionals and the nursing team.

Maintain accurate and effective electronic patient records, ensure they are kept updated and communicated to relevant members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The role will involve participating in nurse led MDT.

A variety of clinical skills will be desired including, male and female catheterisation, cannulation and venepuncture.

As a registered nurse you will be required to participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members and to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families

· Assist in the delivery of the highest standards of patient care and service are delivered in the most efficient and effective way.

· Ensuring best practice in infection control

· Treating patients with dignity and respect

· Assist the ward manager in ensuring all quality improvement work is implemented and sustained.

· Ensure safe and effective discharge planning.

· Supporting the delivery of the Nursing Strategy at all times.

Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others, undertaking post-registration training where required for the needs of the department, and in keeping with the development of a learning organisation.
