Credit Controller

We are currently recruiting for a Credit Controller to join our team in Warrington on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for managing customer accounts across multiple business units, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and supporting the overall effectiveness of the Order-to-Cash function. You will provide an excellent level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear, professional, and accurate communication throughout the collections and query resolution process.

Your main responsibilities

Manage customer accounts across multiple business units, ensuring timely debt collectionChase overdue payments via phone, email and dunning processesAllocate customer payments accurately and promptly.Investigate and resolve unallocated cash,deductions and account queriesNegotiate payment plans where required and escalate high-risk accountsMonitor aged debt and drive reductions in overdue balancesPrepare KPI reports and management commentary as required.Support internal and external audits withrelevant documentationRespond to customer and internal queries in a timely and professional mannerWork closely with Risk, Billing, Customer Services, Transport and Commercial teams to resolve issuesShare knowledge and best practice with colleaguesProvide support across teams as business needs requireIdentify and implement process improvementsInvestigate errors and recommend corrective actionsUse Excel confidently, including Pivot Tables and FiltersUse Outlook, Word and PowerPoint to support daily activities and reporting What you bring

Minimum 2-3 years' experience in Credit Control, Collections or Accounts ReceivableExperience managing customer accounts across multiple business units, regions or ledgersStrong understanding of credit control processes, debt collection techniques and cash allocationExcellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at alllevelsStrong problem-solving, analytical and organisational abilitiesGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and FiltersExperience working with ERP, finance or accounting systems would be advantageousHigh levels of accuracy and attention to detailStrong literacy and numeracy skills with a proactive and continuous improvement mindset
