About the role:

Keep Stubbins Mill Running at Its Best. Join Essity as an Electrical & Instrumentation Specialist and play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability, performance, and efficiency of our manufacturing operations at Stubbins Mill, Ramsbottom.

This day-based role (Monday to Friday) covers electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As part of the role, you will participate in a site call-out rota, providing out-of-hours technical support when required to help maintain safe and reliable mill operations.

You will support reliability, safety, and efficiency across mill operations:

Provide hands-on electrical and instrumentation support and coaching to help resolve equipment and process issues.Support the safe and efficient operation of paper manufacturing and site utility systems.Diagnose, maintain, calibrate, and improve instrumentation, control systems, and process equipment.Participate in daily operational reviews to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities.Conduct root cause analysis and GAP assessments to reduce downtime and improve reliability.Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.Lead and support medium and long-term improvement projects focused on efficiency, reliability, and operational excellence.Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to deliver sustainable solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.Participate in the site call-out rota and provide technical support to minimise downtime and restore equipment safely and effectively. About you:

Essential:

A time-served electrical technician background with a recognised electrical apprenticeship.Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, paper, or process industries.Strong electrical fault-finding, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.Experience working with industrial instrumentation, process control systems, drives, and automation equipment.A confident communicator who can challenge constructively and influence others.A proactive self-starter who works effectively both independently and as part of a team.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.Passionate about continuous improvement and operational excellence.Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota. Desirable:

Experienced with Siemens control systems, PLCs, and industrial automation. What we offer:
