CTE Program Director & Facility Coordinator – Construction Technologies Location: Bourgade Catholic High School | Phoenix, AZ Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt Target Start Date: Late Fall 2026 About Bourgade Catholic High School Established in 1962, Bourgade Catholic High School assists students in discovering and developing their God-given potential through a college preparatory curriculum and the teachings of Jesus Christ. As we expand our curriculum to prepare students for high-demand, impactful careers, we are launching a state-of-the-art 12,000 sq. ft. Construction Technologies Facility set to open in August 2027. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, multi-faceted leader to serve as the Program Director & Facility Coordinator for our new Construction Technologies Career & Technical Education (CTE) Program. Key Responsibilities 1. Facility Launch & Construction Oversight

• Serve as the school's primary point of contact and liaison for contractors, architects, and project managers during the construction of the 12,000 sq. ft. facility.

• Plan equipment layouts, select industry-grade tools, and manage the procurement process to ensure a safe, functional, and modern shop environment.

• Collaborate with school administration to establish safety protocols, shop procedures & rules, and maintenance schedules ahead of student arrival.

2. Program & Curriculum Development

• Collaborate with the school's leadership and select industry partners to build an engaging, hands-on CTE curriculum aligned with the school's mission and the Arizona Department of Education's Construction Technologies technical standards. Content will cover core construction industry fundamentals such as: safety/OSHA standards; blueprints, tools, carpentry, masonry & concrete, framing, exterior/interior finishes, electrical, plumbing, sustainability.

• Research and report on appropriate industry certifications and credentials students may earn upon completion of a two-year course of study in Construction Technologies.

3. Industry Relations & Community Networking

• Actively network with Phoenix-area construction firms, trade associations, and local unions to secure industry partnerships, guest speakers, site visits, and job placement opportunities for students.

• Partner with the Advancement Office to cultivate relationships with potential donors, trade sponsors, and material suppliers.

4. Instruction & Student Mentorship (Post-Launch Phase: August 2027 Onward)

• Direct day-to-day shop activities, maintaining an exceptional standard of job-site safety and professional trade ethics.

• Instruct and mentor high school students with patience, adaptability, and high standards, fostering both trade skills and character development.

• Manage student projects, material inventories, and shop safety compliance.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Comprehensive Trade Knowledge: Broad, practical expertise across multiple areas of the construction trades, with hands-on experience in residential and commercial building methods.

• Safety First: Deep commitment to job-site safety protocols and risk management.

• Management or Leadership Experience: Experienced in project management, crew leadership, site supervision, or running a trade-related business.

• Youth Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, mentorship-oriented temperament suitable for working with high school-aged youth.

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with school leadership, vendors, industry donors, and parents.

• Safe Environment background check and clearance: Completed prior to hiring using the Diocese of Phoenix online learning system.

• Faith & Mission Alignment: Practicing Catholic or strong alignment with the values and mission of Catholic secondary education preferred.

• Instructional Experience: Previous experience teaching, training apprentices, or coaching young adults is highly desired (an Arizona teaching certificate is not required at the time of application, but will be required within the first 12 months from hire date).

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and navigate active construction sites and shop environments safely.

• The work environment shifts between a classroom setting, construction/shop area, and local industry networking sites.
