About this role

Job Description: Acting Elementary Administrator Overview The Acting Elementary Administrator, in collaboration with the Student Services Administrator, is responsible for the overall operation of the school when the Interim Principal is not in the building. This position requires instructional and operational leader experience with exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The Acting Elementary Administrator will provide leadership and support to staff, students, and parents, ensuring the continuity of school operations and maintaining a positive learning environment when the principal is out of the building. The Acting Elementary Administrator does not have any formal evaluation responsibilities. Responsibilities -

• When the Interim Principal is Out of the Building on Fridays

School Management:

• Assume the duties and responsibilities of overseeing the school building when the principal is not there. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: addressing building emergencies, student discipline, urgent parent contacts, student safety issues, and building security.

• Coordinate the work of support staff, such as paraprofessionals and clerical staff.

• Ensure compliance with district policies, procedures, and state regulations.

• Serve as a liaison between the school and district administration.

Crisis Management:

• Respond to and address school crises calmly and effectively.

• Implement emergency plans and procedures.

• Collaborate with district administration and emergency personnel as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and community members.

• Assist with standardized testing operations.

• Oversee cafeteria and bus duty before and after school

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification in the state of Massachusetts

• Master's degree in education or related field preferred

• Minimum of four years of successful teaching experience

• PTS status in the Sharon Public Schools

• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

• Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices

• Administrator licensure, preferred

Additional Considerations

• The duration of the position is one year.

• The Acting Elementary Administrator will have access to appropriate administrative support and resources.

• They will continuously communicate with the Interim Principal for support and updates in an emergency.

Stipend $12,000
