Grade 7-12 Mathematics Teacher-Temporary Location: Secret City Academy Grade Level: 7-12 Start Date: October 26, 2026 Contract Days: 140 Licensure Requirement: Active Tennessee Teaching License with Middle Grades Mathematics Endorsement – Code 413 Position Summary Oak Ridge Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated Grade 7-12 Mathematics Teacher to provide high-quality mathematics instruction in a supportive and engaging middle school learning environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong content knowledge, effective instructional practices, and a commitment to supporting the academic growth and success of all students. Essential Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver standards-aligned mathematics instruction for Grade 7 students.
• Develop engaging lessons that address varying student learning needs and abilities.
• Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction and intervention.
• Maintain an organized, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and families to promote student success.
• Participate in professional learning, team meetings, and other school and district activities.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete required documentation.
• Implement district curriculum, instructional expectations, and Tennessee academic standards.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities associated with the position as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must hold an active Tennessee teaching license.
• Must hold the appropriate 7-12 Mathematics endorsement (Code 413) for the assignment.
• Ability to effectively teach Grade 7 mathematics.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Commitment to creating a positive learning environment and supporting the success of all students.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous middle school mathematics teaching experience.
• Experience using student achievement data to differentiate instruction.
• Knowledge of effective instructional strategies for middle school learners.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of an instructional team
