POSITION: SPED CORE Facilitator REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services CLOSING DATE: Until Filled DESIRED START DATE: October 12, 2026 SALARY: $750/yr Stipend (pro-rated for the remainder of the 2026/27 SY) GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The major responsibility of the SPED CORE facilitator is to lead specialized instruction, supports teachers with core academic, content adaptations, ensures compliance with individual plans (IEPs), and fosters an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. See Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (Not Necessarily Limited to)
• Maintain agenda and facilitate weekly Special Education Core meetings aligned with district processes and procedures.
• Serve as a liaison between school teams and district special education leadership, ensuring clear communication and alignment
• Participate in ongoing collaboration and training with the Student Services Director and Special Education Specialists
• Serve as the point of contact for student transfers (in/out of district) and new special education referrals
• Model best practices
• Maintains accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations
• Due to (a) the nature and scope of the essential functions, (b) the importance of personal interactions between this position, employees, students, and other members of the public, and (c) the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent, on-site attendance while working independently and with others
• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned. As student and educator needs evolve the day to day essential functions may vary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current JCSD Teacher
• SPED Teaching experience
• B.A Required, MA Preferred
• Valid Oregon Teaching License
• Demonstrated record of effectiveness in their own teaching.
• Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work positively and cooperatively with others.
• Knowledge of and experience with effective instruction and assessment.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing educational/continuing professional development.
