About this role

Provide high-quality instruction, individualized support, and engaging educational experiences for students receiving special education services. Promote academic growth, positive behavior, independence, and student success while ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), state and federal special education requirements, and the overall instructional goals of Priddy ISD. Special Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices. Knowledge of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Ability to provide differentiated and specially designed instruction based on individual student needs. Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, parents, administrators, related service providers, and other staff. Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and classroom management skills. Instructional Duties Develop and implement engaging instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and each student's IEP. Provide specially designed instruction to address students' individual academic, behavioral, functional, and developmental needs. Implement all accommodations, modifications, goals, services, and supports outlined in student IEPs. Use student data, assessments, progress monitoring, and classroom performance to guide instruction and measure student growth. Develop, monitor, and document progress toward measurable annual IEP goals. Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying learning styles, abilities, disabilities, and individual student needs. Provide instruction and support in special education, inclusion, resource, or general education settings as assigned. Collaborate with general education teachers to support students receiving special education services in the least restrictive environment. Provide appropriate interventions and instructional support to promote student achievement and independence. Maintain accurate special education records, documentation, progress reports, and other required paperwork. Participate in and prepare appropriate documentation for ARD meetings, evaluations, and other special education meetings. Communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, administrators, and other staff regarding student progress and needs. Participate in campus meetings, training, professional development, and special education training as required. Support district goals, initiatives, and accountability standards. Student Supervision and Support Maintain a safe, structured, positive, and supportive learning environment. Implement behavior intervention plans, accommodations, and other supports as required by student IEPs. Support students in developing academic skills, independence, self-advocacy, positive behavior, responsibility, and respect for others. Supervise and assist students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, transportation, field trips, and other school activities as assigned. Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and other support staff to ensure student needs and IEP requirements are appropriately addressed. Protect the confidentiality of student records and special education information. Assist students with personal, functional, mobility, or daily living needs when required by their individual educational program. Maintain high expectations for all students while providing the individualized support necessary for student success.
