About this role

Position Description: The Executive Director of Advanced Study Academies and Compliance is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring a wide range of programs and policies that support student equity, access, compliance, and safety. This role ensures the district's adherence to federal and state regulations related to Title IX, desegregation, bullying prevention, student transfers, and school choice programs, including magnet and Advanced Study Academies. Reports To: Chief District Affairs Officer Scope of Responsibility:

• Oversees and coordinates the implementation of all school choice programs, including staff training and student recruitment within home and transfer zones.

• Develops timelines, protocols, and relevant documents for admissions, testing, notification, and appeals for all school choice programs.

• Provides guidance and support to families during the student enrollment process.

• Collects and analyzes data to prepare reports that track trends and measure progress across school choice programs.

• Works to ensure equitable and consistent admissions practices for all schools.

• Maintains and updates admissions policies, criteria, and procedures and recommends changes as needed.

• Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal policies and regulations.

• Coordinates and oversees academic student transfers.

• Oversees student transfers resulting from extraordinary circumstances.

• Manages compliance and implementation of federal school choice and ACT 853 Choice programs.

• Serves as the district's Title IX Coordinator; conducts investigations and ensures compliance with all Title IX regulations and procedures.

• Oversees all legal and procedural aspects of bullying investigations and training; compiles and presents monthly bullying data to district leadership.

• Ensures proper use of required bullying documentation at school sites and supports thorough investigations and resolution processes.

• Maintains records of all bullying incidents for a minimum of three years.

• Analyzes bullying data trends, consults with schools, and provides targeted training and resolution strategies.

• Manages duties related to Dandridge and ensures compliance with the Consent Judgment of March 2008, as delegated by the Superintendent.

• Supervises the district's harassment and intimidation program and serves as the designated coordinator for related complaints.

• Coordinates and leads parent and community engagement initiatives.

• Facilitates parent concerns/complaints with the collaboration of school principals.

• Responds to inquiries regarding records maintained by the Compliance Office.

• Works directly with the district's independent monitor on desegregation and compliance matters.

• Supervises the communication and dissemination of school board policies related to the Consent Judgment and assists with policy reviews and handbook updates.

• Carries out other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief District Affairs Officer.

Supervision Components:

• Performs supervisory duties in alignment with district expectations.

• Complies with Louisiana laws related to student education, health, safety, and welfare.

• Maintains communication with school staff and multidisciplinary teams to resolve or mediate family-school-district concerns.

• Follows up with staff, parents, and administrators on matters affecting student well-being.

• Collaborates with colleagues to design and implement support plans for schools and families.

• Reviews, drafts, and recommends policies and programs that improve school climate and culture.

• Participates in the development, evaluation, and implementation of district policies and procedures.

• Promotes equity, consistency, and fairness in the application of policies.

• Supports employee oversight through evaluations, Intensive Assistance Plans, and related personnel processes.

• Coordinates and/or facilitates professional development for school and district staff.

• Sets goals aligned with district vision and uses data to assess progress and guide adjustments.

• Collaborates on grant proposals and funding opportunities as needed.

Non-instructional and Other Components:

• Participates in meetings and conferences related to student education, health, safety, and welfare.

• Attends Central Office, department, school board, and committee meetings, as needed.

• Represents the department at school events such as back-to-school nights and open houses, upon request.

• Engages in professional development and training to support ongoing growth.

• Adheres to all required deadlines and timelines.

• Maintains accurate case records, reports, and documentation to ensure service continuity and program accountability.

• Coordinates and facilitates school conferences with families and staff to address concerns and resolve barriers to student success.

Skills and Qualifications: We seek detail-oriented, independent self-starters who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to raising student achievement and who have a record of high performance in challenging situations. Successful candidates will also demonstrate and/or possess:

• Master's degree in a related field.

• Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience or supervisory experience.

• Knowledge of federal and state education laws and regulations, including Title IX, IDEA, FERPA, and civil rights compliance.

• Strong understanding of school choice, magnet programs, majority-to-minority transfers, and related student assignment policies. Proven ability to lead and manage complex investigations, including bullying, harassment, discrimination, and Title IX matters. Experience working with school board policy, grievance procedures, and employee/student handbooks. Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools to monitor trends (e.g., bullying, discipline, academic access).

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with parents, students, staff, legal counsel, and external agencies.

• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver professional development on sensitive topics.

• Experience collaborating with community organizations, compliance monitors, legal teams, and advocacy groups.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a record of successfully supervising and evaluating teams across departments.

• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.

• Experience in working with families facing challenging circumstances.

• High degree of professionalism, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, while consistently demonstrating sound judgment and disciplined thinking.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certification in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership or management experience.

• Three (3) years site based discipline experience.

• Prior experience coordinating or implementing desegregation orders, consent judgments, or diversity/equity initiatives in K–12 education.

Physical Involvement: Sitting is required part of each work day. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting up to 30 pounds is sometimes required. Ability to provide own transportation to schools, work locations and meeting sites. Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations.
