About this role

Annual Rate: $21,576.00 minimum - $30,415.00 maximum *not to Exceed 186 days Employment Period: Beginning in August 17, 2026 and not to exceed June 8, 2027 Salary is based on the district compensation plan and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications for the position. PRIMARY PURPOSE: Serve as the first point of contact for the campus by managing the main entrance and front office, greeting and assisting visitors, and providing clerical and administrative support to the principal, staff, students, and families. Support a safe, welcoming, and well-organized campus while maintaining the confidentiality of student and staff information. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Proficient typing and basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and student information and visitor management systems

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Effective verbal and written communication and customer service skills

• Ability to manage frequent interruptions and multiple tasks calmly and professionally

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student, family, and personnel information

• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred

Experience: One (1) year of clerical, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred; experience in a school setting preferred. Background Check: Successful completion of fingerprinting and a national criminal history background check as required by Texas Education Code § 22.0834 and Board Policy DBAA. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Visitor Management and Campus Safety

• Greet parents, students, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

• Verify visitor identification, check visitors in and out using the District visitor management system, and issue visitor passes in accordance with campus and District safety procedures.

• Monitor the main entrance and follow access-control procedures, including keeping exterior doors secured and reporting unauthorized or suspicious persons to the principal or designee immediately.

• Release students only to authorized adults listed in the student information system and follow procedures for custody orders and restricted contacts.

• Know and follow the campus emergency operations plan, and assist with drills, lockdowns, evacuations, and other emergency procedures as directed.

Communications

• Answer multi-line telephones, take accurate messages, and route calls to the appropriate staff member.

• Relay messages to students and staff promptly while minimizing interruptions to instruction.

• Assist with campus announcements, parent notifications, and distribution of campus communications as directed.

Clerical Support

• File documents, perform data entry, sort and distribute mail, and type correspondence, forms, and reports.

• Maintain front office records, logs, and supplies in an organized manner.

• Schedule appointments and maintain calendars for the principal or campus staff as assigned.

Student and Staff Support

• Assist with daily attendance tracking, including late arrivals, early pickups, and parent notes, and enter attendance information accurately in accordance with District procedures.

• Assist students with minor needs and refer illness, injury, or health concerns to the school nurse or designated staff.

• Support teachers and staff with front office requests and assist substitutes with check-in and campus information.

Confidentiality, Compliance, and Professional Growth

• Maintain the confidentiality of student records and personal information in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Board policy, and District procedures.

• Comply with all federal and state laws, Board policy, and District procedures, including employee standards of conduct under Board Policy DH and the duty to report suspected child abuse or neglect.

• Participate in required training and professional development to improve skills related to assigned duties.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions and multiple simultaneous demands. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching; prolonged use of computer and telephone; occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 25 pounds. Work is performed primarily in a campus office setting with regular interaction with students, parents, staff, and the public. May require occasional work beyond the regular workday.
