JOB REQUIREMENTS Travel is required to all geographical locations for Ki Charter, including but not limited to Austin, Boerne, Denton, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, Liberty Hill, San Antonio, San Marcos, & Temple. •Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required •Extensive experience (15+ years) in IT operations, infrastructure, and systems management •Master’s degree preferred •Industry certifications (e.g., Citrix, Microsoft, Cisco, cybersecurity certifications) strongly preferred •Experience in an educational environment required, multi-site operation preferred •Experience working in a K–12 educational environment with demonstrated understanding of how technology supports instructional best practices •Demonstrated experience leading technology projects from planning through implementation ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Eligibility - Citizenship, residence, or work visa required SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS •Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, including prioritization, scheduling, milestone tracking, stakeholder communication, testing plans, risk management, and accountability for deadlines •Excellent communication and organizational skills •Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment •Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills •Strong cybersecurity, student data privacy, digital safety, and responsible technology-use knowledge, with student safety prioritized in technology decisions •Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment •Ability to manage the technology integration and setup of new curriculum and instructional programs, including configuration, rostering, SSO, permissions, data connections, testing, troubleshooting, and launch readiness PRIMARY FUNCTION The Director of Information Technology provides strategic leadership, planning, and oversight of all technology systems, infrastructure, and services across Ki Charter’s multi-site educational programs. This role ensures secure, scalable, and compliant technology operations that support instructional delivery, student data systems, and organizational growth. The Director oversees the implementation and integration of digital technology to optimize digital curriculum and assessment platforms, data systems, and tools to create seamless, secure, and user-friendly experiences. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ●Develop and implement an IT strategic plan aligned with organizational growth ●Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity ●Prioritize student safety and security in all technology decisions ●Lead system implementations, migrations, and upgrades ●Ensure compliance with TEA, FERPA, and applicable regulations ●Manage IT operations and support systems, to include projects, instructional programs, evaluation of user management, and active directories ●Manage, monitor, and maintain an accurate district-wide inventory of technology assets, including student and staff devices, laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, interactive smartboards/displays, peripherals, networking equipment, and other instructional technology ●Provide timely and professional communication to administrators and vendors regarding technology issues, project status, service interruptions, and resolution timelines ●Develop and manage IT budget, including creating and maintaining a strategic, scalable technology plan ● Create, manage, and advise on vendor relationships ●Supervise IT staff and provide professional development ●Support instructional/curriculum and operational technology needs ●Serve as Information Officer ●Serve as Cybersecurity Coordinator ●Coordinate E-rate planning and budgeting ●Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Travel is required to all geographical locations for Ki Charter, including but not limited to Austin, Boerne, Denton, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, Liberty Hill, San Antonio, San Marcos, & Temple.
