Position: Skilled Maintenance Technician - Electrician Location: District-Wide Reports To: Operations Supervisor Schedule: 40 Hours per week Work Year: Full Year Position - 52 weeks Salary Range: $25.38 to $26.30, depending on experience. Additional pay of $4/hour available for those who hold a qualifying current professional license. • The Skilled Maintenance Technician is directly responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the school district Operations functions. This includes minor construction, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, along with safety compliance and compliance of all appropriate codes, rules, and regulations.
• The district is seeling a qualified Electrician to fill this role to complete the competencies and skillset of the maintenance team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Working as district Skilled Maintenance staff; Performs general maintenance work in repairing buildings, fixtures and equipment. This work includes electrical, plumbing, carpentry, brick and block work, painting, demolition, minor construction.
• Working as the district Electrician; Repair and maintain many forms of electrical equipment and infrastructire, install new electrical service to a variety of equipment in varying circumstances, work with the district leadership to evaluate and design new services/structures, recommend and work with district contractors on electrical projects.
• Must be able and willing to work overtime responding to emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor and/or the Executive Director of Operations and Transportation.
Employment Qualifications:
• Electrical experience and professional license are preferred as a part of facility skilled maintenance.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Work experience should relate to facility maintenance with institutional experience being desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, and plan daily tasks, emergencies, and long term projects.
• Effectively communicate with a wide variety of people.
• Ability to work flexible hours as workload and project needs change.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high depending upon the student population and activities. The employee may be exposed to various conditions including wet or humid, work near moving parts, work in high precarious places, various cleaning agents, some hazardous chemicals and fumes, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee may be exposed to bodily fluids and blood-borne pathogens.
