TITLE: BUS MONITOR REPORTS TO: Director/Asst. Director of Transportation PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintains control of students while on the bus.
• Assists bus driver in the management of entrance and exit of Special Needs students.
• Assists bus driver in the management of student safety and conduct during routes.
• Takes care of any special needs of the students while they are on the bus.
• Manages seating of students on the bus.
• Assists in the loading and unloading of students.
• Assists the bus driver in times of need and during emergencies.
• Assists with evacuation procedures.
• Implements special IEP services.
• Maintains and keeps current transportation confidential emergency cards and other required reports. This information is to be maintained in accordance with the Family Education and Privacy Act, and State and Local Special Education Regulations.
• Communicates effectively with students.
• Communicates and establishes positive relationships with parents.
• Upholds, enforces, and abides by all school rules, administrative regulations, Board policies, State Board of Education regulations, and the school laws of Kentucky.
• Other duties as assigned by Transportation Department
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Will attend special education training programs and a first aid course as determined by local
School district.
• Shall be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Shall attend all training programs offered relating to the transportation of pupils.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Satisfactory completion of state mandated health examination.
EVALUATION:
• Performance will be evaluated annually by the Director/Asst. Director of Transportation.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Salary commensurate with the Russell Independent Schools Classified Salary Schedule.
