This Long Term Sub position is from mid December through the March. Overview of the Malden Public Schools: The Malden Public Schools (MPS) is a richly diverse school district located within the Greater Boston area and accessible by the MBTA orange line train. Malden's student body comprises approximately 6,800 students who represent 59 different countries and speak 67 different languages. We have 1 early learning center, 5 K-8 schools, and 1 high school. Our teachers are trained in the principles of Universal Design for learning which embeds inclusive practices into lesson plans. Our teachers plan their lessons to be inclusive and for all learning styles. • Completion of a master's degree or higher in school psychology approved by the National Association of School Psychologists, doctorate preferred, as well as experience working with children.
• Possession of MA DESE school psychologist license,
• Experience with special education processes and eligibility guidelines,
• Experience in evaluating second language learners,
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including strong public speaking skills,
• Spanish/Bilingual candidates preferred
Reports to: Building Principal, Assistant Principal LTS Salary information: Salary: $135/Day - Retired Teacher w/ DESE Certification $125/Day – DESE Teaching Certification $100/Day – No Certification If a substitute holds a Bachelors degree or a Teaching License, and they serve in the same assignment for a 30 consecutive work day probationary period, they are eligible to have their pay rate increased to a per diem rate of $210/day for the remainder of their current assignment; pay returns to the daily rate at the conclusion of their assignment; however, if they move to another long-term assignment within a month, they do not have to restart the probationary period again and may continue receiving the per diem rate.
