Play Director - High School Level Three (3) This is an internal posting only for current FPS employees. Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in theatre education;
• Related experience as a director or assistant is preferred
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Produce & direct three performances of one play at the high school;
• Select play, handle the contract for performances, secure license, and prepare scripts for production;
• To provide instruction in all aspects of theater arts;
• Conduct auditions, schedule, conduct and attend all rehearsals;
• To supervise the entire cast and crew of the musical production;
• Arrange for publicity of the play, printing, and sale of tickets;
• Direct and or delegate all technical aspects of performances including but not limited to:
• Lighting;
• makeup;
• sets;
• sound and necessary musical accompaniment
Terms of Employment/Salary/Work Year: As negotiated by the Fitchburg School Committee and the Fitchburg Education Association (FEA). Extra Curricular Salary Scale - Level 3 This is a pension-eligible stipend for an extracurricular club or class. This is a one-year appointment.
