This position is from November 12, 2026 - December 23, 2026. The long-term substitute position is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned to district-approved curriculum and Chapter 74 standards. The long-term substitute will create a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environment that supports student growth, both academically and socially. This role requires strong instructional planning, effective classroom management, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs and interests of all learners. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. • Teaches district-approved curriculum; prepares lesson plans accordingly.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated,
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
• Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
• Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: HS diploma required. Associate's degree preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred. Five years of experience in a classroom setting preferred. CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: DESE Chapter 74 Licensure in career area required. ABILITY, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Prior classroom or educational experience preferred Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
