Position: Part Time Meidcaid Specialist
Qualifications:
• Prefer degree and training
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Trained in Word programs
• Ability to work with changing priorities, regulations and deadlines
• Ability to analyze situations accurately and to recommend necessary action
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Effective skills in planning and organization
Responsibilities:
• Represent school district in positive manner, interacting with public and employees
• Be competent in filing and retrieval methods
• Maintain proper office atmosphere concerning accuracy and confidentiality
• Maintain office area conducive to the goals of the district
• Able to meet deadlines with time constraints
• Responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining procedures for gathering information necessary for the accurate and timely processing of claim forms for services (including Administrative Time Study, Direct Services, and Transportation) delivered to Medicaid-eligible children.
• Finance: Responsible for reviewing, certifying, and submitting Medicaid Financial reports. Supports maintaining appropriate financial audit documentation. Demonstrate knowledge of financial reporting structure as identified within the New Mexico PED Chart of Accounts.
• Provides training, guidance, and technical assistance support to related service and district staff regarding documentation and reporting for Medicaid for related service staff.
• Maintains an atmosphere that protects the privacy and confidentiality of students, personal records, and other information as required.
• Be able to utilize information from Synergy the student information systems to conduct quality assurance checks for IEP development and information related to accurate reporting for related services and Medicaid billing.
• Have knowledge of NOVA special education reporting related to caseload, Medicaid reporting, and special education counts.
• Manage the MaxCapture software system to enable accurate reporting for ancillary services provided to determine total service capture and assist the fiscal department with Medicaid billing.
• Develop quality systems that are effective and efficient in conjunction with the Director of Special Education.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
