Interim President/Head of School Application Deadline ASAP Preferred Start Date: November 1, 2026; Negotiable About Our Lady of the Elms Our Lady of the Elms is a private Catholic school rooted in the Dominican tradition. Serving girls in grades 1–12 and a coeducational Kindergarten, the Elms educates girls and young women to live boldly with purpose, confidence, kindness, resilience, justice, and faith. The school seeks an Interim President/Head of School to lead its mission, academic program, people, and operations during this transition. The Role Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the Interim President/Head of School is responsible for the management and operation of the school. The leader works with the Board, the school sponsor, faculty, staff, students, families, alumnae, and the broader community to sustain educational excellence and advance the school's mission. The position serves ex officio on the Board and its committees. Key Responsibilities • Champion Catholic identity, Dominican charism, and the value of an all-girls education throughout academic and extracurricular programs. • Lead excellent teaching and learning, support faculty and staff, and encourage thoughtful integration of technology into the curriculum. • Collaborate with the Board on the development of near-term strategic priorities focusing on enrollment, fundraising, and academics. Communicate strategies transparently and consistently to school stakeholders • Oversee personnel, business affairs, budget, facilities, safety, and compliance with school policies and applicable laws and regulations. • Provide required reports to the Board and sponsor, including an annual report at the sponsor's designated time. Qualifications • A practicing Catholic who loves and actively lives the faith. • Visionary leadership and a commitment to excellent teaching and learning. • Experience integrating technology into the curriculum. • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with students, families, staff, and community members. • Clear, effective communication and a spirit of cooperative innovation. Position Details Based at the school in Akron, the role typically requires approximately 40 hours per week, with occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends for Board meetings, events, and school priorities.
