About this role

Innovision Media is a Sligo-based visual communications company working on planning, infrastructure and environmental projects. We use photography, maps, graphics, 3D imagery and interactive exhibitions to help people understand proposed developments. This six-month WPEP placement offers supervised experience in preparing and presenting visual information for project teams and public audiences. The participant will learn how different types of content are gathered, organised, checked and brought together for reports, presentations and online exhibitions. Working alongside experienced staff, the participant will undertake guided exercises and suitable project activities. These may include organising photographs and reference material; preparing presentation graphics and exhibition content; checking text, images and links against an agreed brief; and helping test online exhibitions and VR presentations from a visitor’s point of view. The participant will also be introduced to Innovision’s 3D visualisation work to understand how imagery is developed and used in wider project communications. This is a supporting element of the placement rather than a specialist CGI production role. A Personal Learning Plan will be agreed at the start of the placement. The participant will receive supervision, mentoring and regular feedback. The placement includes at least 60 hours of training, including 20 hours of accredited or sector-recognised training agreed to suit the participant’s learning needs. By the end of the placement, the participant should have gained practical experience in visual communication, digital content preparation, checking work against a brief and working within a professional project team. The placement does not guarantee ongoing employment.. Through supervised activities, the participant will learn to: Organise photographs, documents and other project reference material. Prepare and update content for presentations and online exhibitions using supplied material and templates. Apply basic principles of clear visual communication, layout and accessibility. Check images, text, links and interactive content against an agreed brief, and record issues for the project team. Assist with setting up and testing VR presentations, including basic headset operation and visitor guidance. Follow file naming, version control and project handover procedures. Communicate progress, respond to feedback and work effectively with colleagues. The participant will receive 40 hours of guided workplace training, including induction, demonstrations, supervised practice and feedback. They will also complete 20 hours of accredited or sector-recognised training. The specific course will be agreed in the Personal Learning Plan according to the participant’s experience and development goals. Formal 1. Accredited or sector-recognised training in workplace skills and professional development, such as the WPEP QQI Work Experience module. 2. Structured learning in communication, teamwork and planning workplace tasks. 3. Learning objectives and progress recorded through the participant’s Personal Learning Plan, with at least 20 hours of accredited or sector-recognised training completed during the placement. Informal 1. Supervised training in organising project photographs, reference material and digital files, including file naming and version control. 2. Guided practice in preparing presentation graphics and online exhibition content, including basic image editing, layout and clear visual communication. 3. Practical demonstrations and supervised testing of online exhibitions and VR presentations, including headset operation, checking content and reporting issues. At least 40 hours of informal training will be provided through induction, demonstrations, guided exercises, mentoring and regular feedback.
