About this role
This is a broad, hands-on role spanning design office work, site delivery and project administration. You will ead the mechanical and HVAC scope on a varied portfolio of projects taking designs from concept through detailed design, tender, construction stage and handover. It is a client, design team and contractor facing position. You’ll represent TEM at design team meetings,chair or contribute to technical discussions, carry out site inspections across Ireland, and be the point of reference for mechanical queries throughout the project cycle. We’re looking for someone who can run their own projects on their own initiative, while working openly and collaboratively within the wider team. What You'll Be Doing Delivering mechanical building services and HVAC design heating, ventilation, air conditioning, associated plant from concept design through to completion and handover. Producing calculations, drawings, schedules, specifications and tender documentation to a high technical standard. Attending and contributing to design team meetings, client meetings and technical workshops. Carrying out site inspections and surveys, monitoring progress and quality, and issuing clear, well-evidenced inspection and progress reports. Reviewing contractor submissions, drawings, RFIs and technical queries. Project administration programme tracking, fee and variation records, correspondence, document control and maintaining accurate project records in line with quality and compliance standards. Supporting commissioning, witnessing, snagging and project handover, including O&M and as-built documentation. Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, design team members and contractors. What We're Looking For Degree (Level 8 minimum) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a closely related discipline. 8–10 years’ experience in mechanical building services / HVAC design and delivery. Design office experience : proven ability to produce and coordinate mechanical designs, calculations and documentation. Site experience : site meetings, inspections, progress monitoring and formal reporting. Project administration experience: programme, records, correspondence and document control. Confidence in a client, design team and contractor facing role, with the credibility to hold your own in a room of senior professionals. A genuine team player works well with teams and within teams. Full, clean driving licence the role involves regular travel to project sites across Ireland. Proficiency in relevant design and project tools (e.g. Revit / AutoCAD, load and system calculation software, MS Office / project scheduling tools). Working knowledge of Irish and European standards, Building Regulations and Part L / NZEB requirements. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
