About this role

Job summary

NHS North East London ICB serves one of the country's most diverse populations. As we evolve our role as a strategic commissioner, we are seeking a Chief Strategy Officer to join our Executive Team and help shape high-quality, sustainable services.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead system-wide strategy, strategic planning, population health intelligence, forecasting and modelling, and strategic commissioning of planned care and specialised services. You will also provide strategic leadership across digital and estates, working with NHS, local authority and community partners to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities.

About You

You will be an established senior leader with significant experience of strategy in a complex health, care or comparable system. You will bring Board-level or very senior leadership experience, strong partnership skills and a track record of turning strategy into measurable improvement. You will be confident using data, evidence and insight to inform decisions and bring partners and communities around a shared vision.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Chief Strategy Officer will lead the development and delivery of system-wide strategy for North East London, ensuring long-term plans and commissioning decisions are informed by high-quality data, evidence, insight and the voices of our communities.

You will lead strategic planning, population health intelligence, forecasting and modelling, alongside the strategic commissioning of planned care and specialised services. The role will also provide strategic leadership across key infrastructure priorities, including digital and estates.

Working across organisational boundaries, you will build strong relationships with NHS providers, local authorities, communities and wider partners, aligning stakeholders around a shared vision and translating strategy into tangible improvements. You will help ensure resources are focused effectively, support transformational change and drive our ambitions to improve population health, reduce inequalities and deliver high-quality, sustainable services across North East London.
