Fixed Term / Secondment until end of August 2027, 30 hours per week.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our busy and dynamic team to cover a period of maternity leave. The postholder will have responsibility for the delivery of Medical Recruitment at Barnsley Hospital in conjunction with their team and senior medical staff at the Trust.
The postholder will also serve as deputy to the Medical Staffing Manager within the department. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to progress their career within Medical Staffing and HR.
The successful candidate will be supported to develop their skills and abilities in taking the next step to more senior management within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
Manage and lead the development of the Medical Staffing recruitment and HR function at the Trust
Deputise for the Head of Medical Staffing when required
Support the development of the medical workforce and recruitment strategy at the Trust
Support Advisory Appointment Committees and other key projects
Act with autonomy in ensuring established standardized systems, processes and procedures are adhered to on a Trust-wide basis
Liaise with external agencies and internal customers to deliver high quality, customer focused service
Monitor compliance with national standards, developing policy and strategy related to Medical Staffing and will lead on specific projects

Knowledge and Awareness Essential
Working knowledge of terms and conditions of service for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff and Consultants Familiarity with Microsoft packages e.g. Word, Excel, Access and ESR
Desirable
Working Knowledge of Maintaining High Professional Standards in the Modern NHS procedures
Experience Essential
Previous experience in administrative/clerical including relevant experience in HR Experience in Medical Staffing Previous experience in data input on a spreadsheet/database

Previous experience of supervision of junior members of a department
