About this role

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity within Nottingham CityCares MOSAIC (Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedic, Spinal, pain and Integrated Chronic fatigue syndrome) Service for MSK Band 5 Physiotherapists to join our team.

The MOSAIC Service takes pride in developing our staff, and as a band 5 physiotherapist, you will have the perfect opportunity to develop your career within a large, innovative, and friendly MSK team that consists of experienced Physiotherapists, Advanced Practitioners, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Exercise Practitioners.

As you join our team, not only will you have the guidance and supervision from our experienced staff, but you will also be able to develop your clinical skills within our MSK Triage Clinics, patient classes and external classes. Furthermore, as your career develops you will be able to tailor your career down MSK, orthopaedic, Pain or even within our FCP Service.

As a service, we are committed to a strong ethos of continuous professional development, and as well as, receiving structured supervision from our experienced staff, you will have regular in-service training from internal and external speakers.

The ability to travel between clinic locations is essential. The MOSAIC Services working hours are between 07:45 and 6pm, 5 days per week, but we are open to flexible working patterns for the right candidate.

You must also be able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively, show flexible working within a team and demonstrate understanding of working in a community MSK clinic setting.

Job Purpose

To contribute to a high-quality service by carrying out assessments, goal setting, implementing treatment programmes and evaluation of clients within the musculoskeletal specialty who may have chronic presentation.To participate actively in the services training strategy, including in-service training, Trust and multi-agency training.To be responsible for planning a safe discharge from the service.

Dimensions

Responsible for physiotherapy assessment and treatment for a defined clinical caseload appropriate to the service area.Working under supervision of a senior physiotherapist.Lead group sessions where appropriateAble to fulfil physical demands of role, including manual handling applicationsWill be required within post to travel city-wide for visits/meetingsTo participate in rehabilitation treatment programmes where applicableTo carry out training for other members of staff.

To adhere to all other Policies and Procedures.To participate in identified data collection and statistics and to maintain clear, concise and timely records in line with the service policy.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

BSc/Diploma in Physiotherapy. HCPC Registration. Recent CPD.

Desirable

Relevant postgraduate training Manual Handing, Safeguarding Children & Adults, Medico-legal issues training

Knowledge and skills Essential

Professional codes of conduct. Good theoretical knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions and their treatment. Awareness of equality and diversity issues. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to assess, plan and evaluate treatment. Ability to apply a basic range of treatment modalities in group and one to one format. Competence in individual caseload and time management. Ability to self-manage. Team working skills IT literacy. Understanding of when to seek advice. Interest in working in MSK services.

Desirable

Able to supervise & delegate to Support Staff. Able to apply more complex interventions. Awareness of current local and national policy developments and their effect on local services. Interest in working in community. Understanding of Social Enterprise organisations.

Special Requirements Essential

Ability to be flexible over hours worked within contracted hours to meet the needs of the service Ability to work out of hours To participate in and fulfil the requirements of the Directors on-call arrangements. Experience of working within or undertaking placements within an NHS setting.
