Main duties of the job Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Group Home Lead to provide strategic oversight and leadership across a group of homes, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality care. The role involves working with Home Managers and multidisciplinary teams to drive continuous improvement and strengthen governance. Key responsibilities include developing high-performing teams, leading service improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with CQC standards. The position requires strong leadership and people management skills, as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care or equivalent experience. A background in adult social care management, particularly with Autism or complex needs, is preferred. As a senior operational leader, you will provide strategic oversight across a group of homes, ensuring they consistently deliver safe, high-quality care that meets regulatory standards and supports positive outcomes for residents. Working closely with Home Managers, Regional leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will drive continuous improvement, strengthen governance and create cultures where both residents and colleagues can thrive.
In this influential role, you will provide visible leadership and support to Home Managers, helping them build resilient, self-sustaining teams and achieve operational excellence. Through regular site visits, coaching, mentoring and performance support, you will ensure consistent standards across all homes while fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous learning.
You will lead service improvement initiatives, oversee quality improvement plans and use data, audits and performance metrics to identify trends, manage risks and drive positive change. Acting as the safeguarding lead for your portfolio, you will provide oversight, guidance and support on safeguarding matters, ensuring policies are consistently applied and that residents are protected through a culture of openness, professionalism and least restrictive practice.
Working closely with operational and governance teams, you will ensure services remain compliant with CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act and organisational policies. You will support homes through inspections, audits and quality reviews, maintaining strong governance frameworks and ensuring actions are implemented effectively.
Alongside your quality responsibilities, you will contribute to the operational and financial performance of the homes, supporting workforce planning, budget management, occupancy growth and the development of sustainable services that meet local needs. You will also represent the organisation with commissioners, regulators and external stakeholders, promoting the reputation of the homes within local communities.
This role will be based across sites in Sussex, Kent, Surrey and South West London. Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and operational oversight across a portfolio of homes. Support and develop Home Managers through coaching, mentoring and performance support. Drive quality improvement, service development and operational excellence. Lead safeguarding oversight and support effective risk management across all homes. Maintain compliance with CQC requirements, legislation and organisational standards. Oversee audits, governance processes, quality reviews and improvement plans. Support financial performance, occupancy growth and efficient resource management. Lead responses to operational challenges, incidents and service recovery requirements. Use performance data and quality intelligence to identify trends and drive improvement. Build strong relationships with regulators, commissioners, residents, families and external partners. Support succession planning and the development of future leaders across the group. To be successful in this role, you will need:
Knowledge and Skills
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care, or equivalent, or relevant experience Strong leadership and people management skills across multi-site operations In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and care standards Working knowledge of the NHS and independent Healthcare sectors Strong knowledge of healthcare laws, regulations, accreditation processes and industry trends Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities Compassionate, resident-focused approach Ability to provide commercial input, at a senior management level Confident, adaptable, resilient and commercially aware, with a high degree of presence and ability to engage people Knowledge of business strategy, planning, financial management, HR legislation, management development and organisational change Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement improvement strategies Experience
Proven experience as a Registered Manager in adult social care, ideally with Autism or complex needs Experience in mentoring and developing managers Demonstrated track record in operational excellence, financial management and quality improvement Familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed care (D). Qualifications Essential
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care or equivalent experience, strong leadership and people management skills, knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and care standards, and a proven track record in operational excellence and quality improvement.
