Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated midwife to join ourWomen's and Children'sGovernance Team as a Patient Safety Midwife with lead responsibility for the Perinatal Mortality Review Tool (PMRT) process.
This is a substantive 15-hour-per-week role working across our maternity services. The post offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with a combination of on-site working across both hospital sites and working from home, according to service requirements.
Main duties of the job
You will take a lead role in the coordination and delivery of the Trust's PMRT process, ensuring that reviews are timely, thorough,multidisciplinaryand centred on the experiences and voices of women, birthingpeopleand their families.
You will work closely with the maternity and neonatal colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team to support high-quality reviews,identifylearningand ensure that recommendations contribute to meaningful and sustained improvements in maternity and neonatal care.
A key aspect of the role will be supporting sensitive and compassionate engagement with bereaved families, ensuring they are offered the opportunity to contribute to the review of their care and that their questions and perspectives are appropriately represented within the PMRT process.
Responsibilities will include coordinating PMRT reviews and meetings, preparing cases and reports, monitoring actions and timescales, analysing themes and trends, and supporting the dissemination of learning across the service.
You also contribute to the wider maternity patient safety and governance agenda, promoting a positive culture of learning, opennessand continuous improvement.

Qualifications Essential
Registered Midwife with Current NMC Registration Teaching & Assessing Qualification Evidence of recent study in a relevant subject at master's level/post graduate qualification

Management Qualification or equivalent
