Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speciality Doctor in Oral Surgery to work within Northumbria Healthcare. This is a permanent contract based in Northumbria Healthcare, to work in sites across Northumbria, North Tyneside.
The successful candidate will be working with the other Oral Surgeons in Northumbria Healthcare, and Maxillofacial colleagues from Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals who provide clinical activity into the service in Northumbria. The post holder will need to be able to work flexibly to address the priorities of the service, to support RTT performance targets with the benefit of having a largely predictable schedule.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be employed by Northumbria Healthcare which boasts excellent purpose built facilities in at Hexham General Hospital in a unit shared with Colleagues in Community Dental.
The main duties include:
To provide oral surgery services to the population of Northumbria and North Tyneside. The job plan will be made up of outpatient and telephone clinics, Local anaesthetic and General anaesthetic sessions, MDT, training, education and service development.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
BDS equivalent qualification MFDS/ FDS or MJDF Full registration and a License to Practice with the General Dental Council (GDC)
Desirable
Relevant Higher degree Academic excellence e.g. prizes, merits, awards Sedation qualification or equivalent
Experience Essential
Evidence of a minimum of 7 years post qualification clinical experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades
Desirable
Recognised management or leadership course Experience as a clinical and/ or educational supervisor for trainees
