About this role

Job summary

To perform a wide range of ultrasound scans this could include renal, abdominal, DVT Doppler, gynaecological and some small parts according to Department Protocols, this excludes maternity services.

Maintain a high standard of clinical expertise and care for the patient.

Scan and independently report own workload of patients, providing written reports to the referring clinician.

Participate in research, audit, quality control as part of the wider healthcare team as required. Be prepared to upskill into new scan protocols such as hernia scans/ foreign body localisation etc.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

DCR or BSc in Radiographic Imaging or equivalent and registered with the Health Professions Council Diploma in Medical Ultrasound, Pg Dip, Pg Certificate or equivalent (masters level) HCPC/ RCT registration

Skills Essential

Willingness to learn new skills for service needs (DVT/FB demo) Good communication skills with patients and staff

Experience Essential

>1 year post grad US Experience Up to date knowledge of US imaging techniques

Desirable

Previous NHS experience DVT/ lumps bumps/ FB etc Experience of training staff and students
