The Trust is recruiting to a Trust Specialist Registrar post in Rheumatology for a fixed term of 8 months, end date 30 September 2027. This post will be an ideal starting point for someone looking to apply for SpR training schemes in Rheumatology.
The postholder will work as a member of the Rheumatology team with FY2 trainees, Trust Registrar, Consultant and Nursing workforce to ensure high quality care of Rheumatology and medical patients.
The Rheumatology team provide rheumatological opinions and urgent care to the wards.
The Rheumatology service has an established track record in audit and research, with regular presentations at national meetings and contributions to peer-reviewed publications. The post holder will be encouraged to actively participate in these activities. These activities are supported by monthly case discussion and education meetings with internal and external speakers.

Main duties of the job The postholder will work as a member of the Rheumatology team with FY2 trainees, Trust Registrar, Consultant and Nursing workforce to ensure high quality care of Rheumatology and medical patients. Outpatient Duties
The post holder will play an integral role in supporting the Early Arthritis Service, Rheumatology outpatient clinics, and the assessment and management of inpatient Rheumatology referrals. The role offers exposure to a broad range of rheumatological conditions, with opportunities to develop clinical skills across both outpatient and inpatient settings.
The department provides excellent training and supervision, with a strong emphasis on supported clinical development in a collaborative and approachable team environment. Our service is supported by a weekly Early Inflammatory Arthritis and Musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning services, local rheumatology /radiology MDT and access to monthly Lung and vasculitis/connective MDTs with tertiary centres.

Speciality Certificate Exam Rheumatology (SCE)
Experience Essential
18 months experience in medicine at post registration level 12 months of Rheumatology experience
