Main duties of the job As a Female Driver Support Worker at Elysium Healthcare, you'll be making a substantial difference in the lives of individuals dealing with mental health conditions. Stationed at Ormesby House in Oxted, Surrey, you'll be part of a supportive team dedicated to providing excellent healthcare services. Your role includes participating in ward rounds, observing and noting patients' behaviours, and offering direct care which may involve aiding with personal hygiene tasks. The job requires a positive attitude and resilience as challenges may arise; however, the rewards include seeing the patients improve under your care. The position is full-time with 35 hours a week, and you will also need to work every other weekend. Applicants must hold a UK driver's license since you'll be using the house vehicle to drive residents to appointments and activities. The position aims to provide the best support to female residents, enhancing their quality of life through effective services. Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

This is a permanent, 35 hours a week, full-time contract. Will be working on 7 hours shifts, or compressed shifts, between the hours of 7am and 10pm, including every other weekend shift on rota.

The vacancy requires female candidates who can drive and hold the UK drivers licence, also must be able to use the house vehicle and drive the residents for activities. This is to support the female residents in the most efficient manner. Where you will be working:

Ormesby House provides a specialist residential service for all gender identities who have a learning disability, or who are autistic, and have behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be of concern/distress. Residents may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems. As well as supporting individuals who have a learning disability, who are autistic, we are specialists in working with additional complex needs. The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team of Support Workers, led by an experienced Registered Manager. Ormesby House is situated in Oxted, Surrey and provides ten en-suite bedrooms, communal lounges and a sunroom along with a fully enclosed garden. Oxted is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and there are many local shops, restaurants, and cafes. The town also has a number of parks and green spaces.
