About this role

Overview

Bridge of Promise’s Director of Program and People is our key executive responsible for program quality and program personnel. This leader oversees two program locations, manages Program Managers, ensures a cohesive and robust program for members across locations, and develops community partnerships that expand opportunities for member engagement. This is an in-person position requiring regular onsite presence at our Bellevue and Kent locations.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across Bridge of Promise program locations, ensuring strong coordination, clear accountability, and consistent execution.

• Directly supervise and support Program Managers across both locations.

• Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and integration of program staff.

• Partner with the Deputy Director to maintain appropriate staffing levels, program coverage, and continuity across locations.

• Serve as the primary program liaison to organizational leadership, communicating program priorities, performance, opportunities, and challenges.

Staff Development and Growth

• Lead performance management, coaching, and professional development for Program Managers and program staff.

• Develop and oversee onboarding and ongoing training plans to ensure staff have the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed.

• Review and recommend compensation changes for program staff in alignment with organizational priorities and established Bridge of Promise processes.

Program Management and Quality

• Oversee program quality, content, and implementation across locations to ensure consistency, member engagement, individual choice, safety, and alignment with organizational goals.

• Partner with Program Managers to identify and resolve significant personnel and program concerns.

• Collaborate with others leaders and staff to resolve complex member or family situations.

• Review and approve monthly program calendars and identify opportunities for new activities, experiences, and community engagement.

• Partner with the Director of Growth & Development and Program Managers to coordinate prospective member visits, onboarding, program placement, and member schedules.

• Collaborate with Deputy Director on annual summer program planning, ensuring program readiness across staffing, schedules, activities, and operational needs.

• Manage program budgets, monitor key performance indicators, and use data to inform resource allocation and operational decisions.

Community Partnerships

• Develop relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community partners that expand opportunities for member activities and engagement.

• Maintain community relationships through appropriate communication and follow-up in partnership with the Executive Director and other organizational leaders.

• Represent Bridge of Promise at resource fairs, community events, and other member-focused activities.

• Collaborate with the Executive Director on fundraising activities, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

• 3+ years of experience supervising and developing staff, including experience managing managers or other supervisory-level employees.

• 5+ years of progressive program management experience, including implementing processes that support consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated experience leading multi-site programs or complex program operations, with availability to work onsite in Bellevue and Kent.

• Experience with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.

• Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, multiple locations, and concurrent initiatives.

• Strong communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to navigate sensitive staff, member, and family situations.

• Ability to successfully complete background checks and required organizational training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and an understanding of person-centered support, individual choice, and engagement.

• Familiarity with behavioral interventions, positive behavior support, and caregiving practices.

• Experience managing program budgets, tracking key performance indicators, and using data to inform operational decisions.

• Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and other external stakeholders.

• Experience in a nonprofit, human services, education, or community-based program environment.

Compensation and Benefits

$80,000-90,000 DOE. Bridge of Promise offers a competitive compensation package. Our benefits include a 401K retirement plan, medical and dental coverage, a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) option, and paid time off.
