Major Areas of Responsibility

• Provide high-quality modified primary and urgent care to students. • Provide emergency care as indicated. • For NPs with fewer than three years of experience, practice under the direction and review of a supervising provider in accordance with written prescriptive guidelines and protocols and consult with the supervising provider as needed. • NPs with more than three years of experience should apply for independent practice. • Maintain a mechanism for peer review of clinical performance. • Provide culturally responsive and inclusive care that recognizes and respects the diverse needs and experiences of students. • Formulate and update Nurse Practitioner protocols. • Maintain required licensure and certifications. • Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to RN staff as needed. • Develop and implement community health education and wellness programs. • Develop leadership and educational opportunities for students. • Participate in Quality Assessment/Quality Improvement and peer review processes in accordance with AAAHC standards. • Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement in student health services. • Optimize the use of electronic medical records and clinical resources. • Collaborate across departments to balance quality, service, and cost-effective care. • Participate actively in department and divisional staff meetings and performance review processes. • Serve as an advisor to the peer educator group, when applicable. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner certification and license to practice in Massachusetts. • Bachelor of Science degree. • Master of Science degree in Nursing. • Current state and federal DEA registration. • Two to three years of clinical experience in primary care or emergency nursing. • Current CPR certification. • Understanding of and respect for Jesuit tradition and values.

• Strong assessment and treatment skills for acute health concerns. • Ability to provide care that addresses students' physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. • Sound independent clinical decision-making and risk-management practices. • Commitment to evidence-based nursing and medical practice. • Knowledge of healthcare systems and the ability to incorporate new information and methodologies into practice. • Understanding and application of ethical principles and professional standards under the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act. • Commitment to patient rights, health promotion, disease prevention, wellness, and self-care. • Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA privacy and confidentiality requirements. • Ability to use patient assessment tools and clinical data to identify opportunities for improving care. • Strong communication, collaboration, team-building, and consensus-building skills. • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic student-centered environment. • Ability to develop strategies that promote positive student health behaviors. • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and creating an environment where all students feel respected, supported, and cared for.

Compensation The salary range for this 10-month position is 80,000–85,000, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
