ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes but are not limited to the following activities:
• Continuous monitoring of gas supply to customers and the gas process parameters as to ensure for safe operations and that the commercial demands of the customers are satisfied.
• Communicate with the FSRU Operations Technicians as it relates to regas rate or nomination changes or adjustments.
• Report or Alert the FSRU of any suspected abnormalities that may cause any process shutdown of gas supply to the customer.
• Report any downstream process changes to the FSRU that may impact the upstream process supply.
• Assist the Assistant Terminal Manager and PIC in the compilation and review of the Daily Gas Reports submitted by FSRU on a daily basis.
• Monitor quality of the gas to ensure meeting specifications and reporting immediately to the Assistant Terminal Manager as appropriate when out of specification Gas is identified.
• Opens and closes valves as required for proper system operation and mechanical pipeline isolation.
• Responds to all alarms and malfunctions of plant operations and takes the necessary corrective measures as per the instruction of the Assistant Terminal Manager.
• Assists in shutdown and startup procedures during outages.
• Be prepared to execute emergency response activities at all times.
• Completion of daily operational checklists to ensure monitoring and recording of machinery and equipment parameters.
• Records operation and maintenance actions taken during shift in Operations Technician’s logbook.
• Follow EE's best / safe working practices and procedures in accordance with the HSSEQ Manual and O & M Manuals of various equipment.
• Know how to operate all Old Harbour LNG Terminal equipment.
• Understudy the Assistant Terminal Manager in his or her duties to demonstrate the ability for potential growth.
• Participate in training seminars to develop and improve the knowledge and skills necessary growth and development in the company.
• Participates in the development of O&M Manuals, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans.
• Process Old Harbour LNG Terminal visitor requirements according to the EE Visitors Procedure and ensuring visitors adheres to the Old Harbour LNG Terminal Visitation Policy.
• Assist in Jetty side mooring operations during STS or as otherwise required.
• Participate in monthly, weekly safety meeting as well as daily toolbox and coordination meetings to discuss upcoming tasks to ensure all persons involved are aware of their roles and responsibilities and provide an opportunity for individuals to participate and give feedback in an effort to improve safety and team spirit.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Knowledge of marine terminal, ship/shore interface management, ship operations, and cargo transfer operations.
• Knowledge and understanding of HSSEQ concepts and management techniques, hazard identification and risk management.
• Extensive operational, maintenance and experience with shoreside facilities and/or operations onboard LNGCs and/or offshore oil & gas operations.
• STCW Operational Level Class II/1 for Deck Officers or Equivalent University Degree.
• Demonstrated training and competence in computer applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The candidate may be exposed to conditions associated with industrial and thermal power plant environments (e.g. noise, heat, dust, fumes, oil, high frequency sounds, etc.) from time to time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This role will require keen attention to operating parameters, critical thinking, problem solving, troubleshooting and communication with management and other stakeholders on a regular basis. In order for the Company to maintain an operating schedule of 24 hours, 7 days per week, the Operations Technician will be required to be available to work during shifts that fall within these operating hours, which includes weekends and public holidays as necessary.
WORK AUTHORIZATION: Candidates must be eligible to work in Jamaica without sponsorship. Sponsorship for this role is not being offered at this time.
