Job Title: Lecturer in Sociology School: Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences - School of Applied Social and Policy Sciences Campus: Derry~Londonderry Salary: Grade 7/8: £41,086 - £58,260 per annum Closing Date: 19 May 2026 Reference Number: 042066 (Permanent / Full-Time) - ABOUT US - We are a university with a national and international reputation for excellence, innovation and regional engagement, making a major contribution to the economic, social and cultural development of Northern Ireland. Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer. - THE ROLE - The postholder will cover the teaching of Sociology in the School of Applied Social and Policy Sciences. The person appointed must have enthusiasm for both teaching and research, and be willing to contribute to new developments. - ABOUT YOU - 1. You will hold a PhD in Sociology or a closely related subject. 2. You will hold a first-class or upper second-class honours degree, or a Master's in Sociology or a closely related subject. 3. You will have experience of co-ordinating, teaching and assessing Sociology on a range of modules at university level. 4. You will have experience of curriculum development, course management and the administration of academic courses, along with a willingness to become a programme director.
