This is an entry-level to junior opportunity within Citi's Data and Regulatory Operations team in Tokyo, focused on maintaining the accuracy of security, pricing, and account data that supports financial operations across the business. In this role, you will apply your Japanese reading skills to interpret prospectuses and securities documents, and use English to coordinate with international teams — both skills used in practical, day-to-day tasks rather than as standalone requirements. No prior experience in reference data is required; what matters is attention to detail, comfort with structured data work, and the ability to communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

● Register and maintain security, pricing, and customer account data across multiple systems, checking for accuracy and completeness at each step. ● Read Japanese-language prospectuses and securities offering materials to extract the relevant data points needed for reference data entry and upkeep. ● Communicate with international operations and system teams in English to align on data processes and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. ● Spot data quality issues as they arise and take steps to correct them, contributing to consistent and reliable service delivery across the team. ● Share knowledge and provide clear guidance to less experienced team members to help maintain the overall standard of the team's output. ● Track the progress of assigned project tasks and coordinate with team members to ensure completion within agreed timelines. ● Flag compliance or control concerns promptly, ensuring day-to-day data decisions remain within applicable regulatory and policy standards. Required Qualifications & Skills

● Native-level Japanese reading proficiency, with the ability to work through detailed financial documents such as prospectuses and securities offering materials. ● English communication skills sufficient for written and verbal coordination with overseas operations and system teams. ● Up to 2 years of experience in client, counterparty, or account data management within a financial services organization. ● Ability to review data carefully, identify gaps or errors, and propose clear steps to address them. ● A practical understanding of what accurate data means for downstream processes, and a commitment to maintaining that standard. ● Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

● Comfortable speaking in Japanese in a team setting for daily collaboration and discussion. ● A financial services qualification such as the Investment Administration Qualification (IAQ) or equivalent — candidates currently studying toward this are also welcome to apply. ● Some familiarity with how reference or market data is used within financial markets, even if gained through study rather than direct work experience. ● Experience working across more than one team or system in an operational environment, even at a junior level.

● A hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, giving you a structured routine with built-in flexibility. ● Structured learning and development programmes from the start, covering financial markets, data governance, and operational best practices — no prior specialist knowledge required to begin. ● Regular collaboration with international teams across Asia, EMEA, and the Americas, giving you genuine global working experience from your base in Tokyo. ● Clear career progression pathways within Data and Regulatory Operations, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility as your confidence and expertise grow. ● A central Tokyo location (Otemachi) with a supportive team environment where accuracy and initiative are recognized.
