The Infection Preventionist (IP) demonstrates knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) through certification and applies their knowledge and experience to guide practice while learning more advanced concepts • The IP is responsible for collaborating to develop, implement and sustain effective IPC strategies • Leadership: Implements and monitors IPC program and practices • Collaborates to align IPC program goals with organizational goals • Provides mentorship to IPs and seeks mentorship from experienced IPs • Infection Prevention & Control Operations: Applies epidemiologic principles and uses appropriate benchmarks • Evaluates the significance of surveillance and investigational findings to make recommendations for improvement • Evaluates the effectiveness of surveillance plans and modifies as necessary • Creates education program(s) to meet the needs and learning styles of the audience • Conducts IPC assessments and/or rounding and communicates findings and recommendations.Primary Location:
