Baptist Health is looking to add a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to our Nuclear Medicine Department at Baptist Downtown for our Internal Traveler Program located in Jacksonville, Florida. This position is part of our internal traveler program which is a 12-week contract with premium pay. This position is eligible to renew their contract after 12 weeks for up to two contracts in total. This is a Full-Time Days opportunity working 40 hours per week. Participation in the on-call and holiday rotation is required. A Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for providing patients with radioactive medication and operating imaging technology to track the radiation within the patient’s body. Their duties include sterilizing syringes, preparing patients for a scan, and processing image reports that indicate the presence of disease. Experience with geriatric and cardiac patients preferred. Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities:
• Performs high quality diagnostic procedures • Knowledge of (and adherence to) State of Florida rules and regulations in regard to Radiation Control/Radioactive Materials • Protects patients, self, others from unnecessary/excessive radiation exposure • Is compliant with mandatory education and health requirements • Identifies, Prepares, administers, and documents medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner in accordance with state, and federal regulations or Lawful institutional policy Experience Requirements:
• Customer Service Experience Preferred • Experience working in a hospital setting Preferred • Radioactive Material Experience Preferred • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations Preferred Education & Credential Requirements:
• Vocational School • Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine - ARRT Required Or • Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist (CNMT) - NMTCB Required Or • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required This Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be located at Baptist Downtown in Jacksonville, FL.
