The Key Purpose of this role is to operate the process area in accordance with work instructions, perform non-destructive quality checks, execute routine maintenance activities, and support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production performance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Process Operations and Control

• Operate process equipment in accordance with work instructions and operating standards. • Conduct required quality checks and analyses as defined in work practices. • Monitor process performance against targets and complete all required short interval control documentation. • Record waste accurately and identify trends, problems, and improvement opportunities. • Respond promptly to operational disruptions and process stoppages. • Apply safe work practices, housekeeping standards, and 5S principles. • Identify and correct unsafe conditions and work practices. • Support team members to achieve operational objectives.

Maintenance of Plant and Equipment

• Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance activities according to established schedules. • Conduct autonomous maintenance and escalate unresolved equipment issues to the Team Leader. • Participate in maintenance shutdowns, cleaning days, and post-maintenance reviews. • Monitor equipment performance trends and implement corrective actions where appropriate. • Work closely with maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.

Quality Control and Analysis

• Execute non-destructive quality checks in accordance with work instructions. • Record quality results accurately on the required documentation and systems. • Investigate and resolve quality deviations using approved problem-solving techniques. • Escalate unresolved quality issues to the Team Leader for further action. • Support the achievement of product quality and process compliance standards.

Communication and Teamwork

• Actively participate in shift meetings and team discussions. • Record issues, risks, and improvement opportunities using the team gap list. • Contribute to team goal reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. • Utilize communication tools such as shift logbooks and operational systems to ensure effective information sharing. • Participate in focused improvement activities where required.

Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement

• Apply structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Why and Quick Fix routines. • Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure sustainable solutions. • Use trend analysis, run charts, control charts, and short-stop analysis to identify losses and process variation. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability. • Record improvement opportunities and collaborate with team members and specialists to implement solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. • Experience within a manufacturing, brewing, or FMCG environment will be advantageous. • Understanding of continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies. • Ability to work shifts and within a team-based operational environment.
