The Key Purpose of this role is to operate and monitor packaging equipment safely and efficiently to achieve production, quality, and operational targets while maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Safety, Health and Environment
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace at all times. • Follow all safety procedures, standards, and legal requirements. • Identify and report unsafe conditions, behaviours, and equipment faults. • Participate in risk assessments, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement activities. • Promote a strong safety culture and operational excellence.
Production Operations
• Execute the production plan to meet shift targets. • Operate and monitor packaging equipment in line with SOPs and VPO standards. • Ensure efficient machine performance and product flow. • Monitor production results and address performance deviations. • Achieve productivity, quality, and cost objectives. • Capture accurate production, waste, and downtime data. • Maintain housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.

Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma, N4, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. • N3 or other technical qualification will be advantageous. • IOB Certificate/Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical) will be advantageous. • Experience operating packaging equipment in an FMCG environment. • Knowledge of automated production and packaging processes. • Mechanical and electrical aptitude with troubleshooting skills. • Understanding of quality, food safety, and manufacturing standards. • Ability to interpret production plans and work instructions. • Basic computer literacy and production reporting skills. • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
