Job summary

This can be a Band 5 to Band 6 progressive role.

This is not a bridging programme only NQMW trained in the UK are eligible to apply.

All midwives applying with an NMC pin need to have worked in the UK as a midwife

An exciting opportunity has arisen for newly qualified and experienced midwives to join our impatient and community services. We offer a comprehensive preceptorship package and excellent support for new starters

We have full time and part time positions available in our friendly and supportive teams across the county with roles available in inpatient areas and community to include supporting women choosing homebirths on an on-call basis.

We offer opportunities to work alongside specialist services including our internationally acclaimed spinal unit. Our maternity services provide care for approximately 4,800 women and their families. We offer a variety of birth choices for our diverse population and have a dedicated suite for women experiencing bereavement. We have a level 2 neonatal service and close links with the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Main duties of the job

Band 5/6 midwives will be offered a hybrid working opportunity to rotate between in patient and community services Experienced band 6 midwives also have the opportunity to choose community working or inpatient care.

Midwives will be responsible for antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care provision, across all areas of our maternity services.

Education, Qualifications & Training Essential

Registered Midwife ENB 997/MSPP

Desirable

NVQ assesor Evidence of further study

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Essential

Clinical skills, in particular: Suturing , Cannulation, Supervision of epidural infusion Ability to write clearly and legibly in English Knowledge of NMC Code of Conduct, Guidelines and Professional Practice Awareness and knowledge of vulnerable adult and child Protection issues Good communicator both verbally and in writing Ability to work on own initiative and mange own time Good previous attendance record Flexible approach to working hours and practices Professional appearance and behaviour Knowledge of evidence informed and research based practice Willing to undertake further study Satisfactory enhanced DBS with check against vulnerable groups barred lists
