About this role
Position Overview: The MPC is responsible for providing care and support to children at Bethany House on Tuesday and Thursday from 5pm to 8pm, focusing on their mental health and overall well-being. This role involves creating and implementing activities that promote emotional wellness, assisting with everyday concerns, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct Support:
• Provide one-on-one and group support to children, addressing their emotional and behavioral needs.
• Assist children in developing coping skills and positive behaviors.
• Activity Planning:
• Develop and implement therapeutic activities and programs aimed at enhancing mental health and social skills.
• Organize recreational and educational activities that promote engagement and teamwork.
• Monitoring and Assessment:
• Observe and document children’s behavior and progress in relation to their mental health goals.
• Collaborate with mental health professionals to assess and adjust care plans as needed.
• Daily Care:
• Assist children with daily routines, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Address and resolve any immediate concerns or conflicts that arise.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, educators, and caregivers, to provide comprehensive support.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care strategies.
• Communication:
• Maintain open and effective communication with children, families, and staff.
• Provide regular updates to families regarding their child’s progress and any concerns.
