About the opportunity
We are seeking talented and motivated Data Engineers to join our Data Engineering chapter.
As a key contributor to our projects, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and architectures. Here are some further details about role:
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines.
• Develop and optimize data models and architectures for data ingestion, processing, and distribution.
• Implement and maintain database structures in SQL, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Work with AWS cloud services (Azure experience is a plus) to deploy and manage data solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines.
• Continuously improve our CI/CD pipeline for data operations.
• Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) scripts, preferably with Terraform, to automate and manage cloud resources efficiently.
Your skills
A proficiency in AWS technologies, with Azure experience would be a significant plus. You should have a solid foundation in Python, SQL, data modelling, and understand the principles of data governance and cloud infrastructure. Knowledge of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, especially Terraform, will be highly valued.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with demonstrable experience in data engineering or a related role is ideal.
Your solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data architecture principles along with having a familiarity with data governance, security practices, and compliance requirements, is important to succeed in this role.
You equally need a proficiency in cloud infrastructure and have managed scalable cloud-based environments.
