Take a leading role in shaping Arista’s intellectual property portfolio development strategyCoordinate and lead patent harvesting activitiesActively collaborate with outside patent counsel to draft and prosecute high-quality patentsSupport litigation activities relating to intellectual propertyProvide IP support on other legal matters (e.g., licensing discussions, acquisitions)Advise management on intellectual property issues Juris Doctor degree5+ years of relevant experience with a demonstrated ability to oversee all aspects of IP portfolio development and protectionState bar membership and eligibility to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeStrong academic background in engineering (electrical engineering or computer science background preferred)Willingness to develop deep expertise in the company’s technologyAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Significant experience prosecuting patents in both the law firm and in-house counsel settingsFamiliarity with patent landscaping and portfolio evaluationFamiliarity with modern computer networking technology and ability to understand computer software written in a variety of programming languagesFamiliarity with trademarks and trade secrets
