Role Overview
We are seeking an Automotive Systems Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Engineer to diagnose vehicle systems independently, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, and create comprehensive guided troubleshooting content for automotive applications.
Core Responsibilities
Diagnose electronic, mechanical, and electrical system problems in vehicles using industry-standard testers and diagnostic tools, including OBD-II scanners, multimeters, and oscilloscopesIdentify and interpret Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) to understand specific error codes and determine root causesConduct comprehensive vehicle testing, including individual component testing and system validationCreate high-quality, informative, and engaging automotive diagnostic content using various authoring toolsDevelop guided troubleshooting procedures and instructional materials based on hands-on diagnostic experienceTechnical Expertise Required
Demonstrate strong knowledge of Gasoline, Diesel, Comfort, and Safety systems, including detailed workflow and operation of sensors and actuatorsUnderstand automotive electrical system wiring diagrams, wire color codes, connectors, components, and their functionalities, including symbols and DIN standardsApply proficiency with tools, equipment, and procedures related to component removal and refit to create informative instructional contentMaintain detailed documentation of system tests, removal and refit procedures, and results for reference and organizational guidelinesPreferred Qualifications
Experience with OE testers and OE descriptionsKnowledge of OBD-II standards and guided troubleshooting methodologiesFamiliarity with Hybrid and Electric Vehicle (HV/EV) systemsRelevant certification in Automotive MechatronicsHybrid and Electric Vehicle Systems certification (Level 2 and Level 3)
