About this role
Responsible for executing and primarily overseeing daily shipping functions that include processing daily orders through various shipping systems, processing shipping requests, courier/LTL shipments and USPS metered mail. Support Account Management in researching and resolving customer shipment issues. Candidate is also responsible for the daily hand-off of all processed packages to carriers and generating end of day reports.
Oversee daily order processing through designated shipping/mailing systemsCoordinate changes in shipping methods as instructed by ManagementSchedule pick-ups with various carrier/courier servicesReview, investigate and/or resolve issues with carriers regarding shipmentsInteraction with carriers/couriers regarding shipment status’s and continuous communication with ManagementMonitor shipping area, stations and verify all packages are processed accordinglyDelegate and instruct shipping personnel while maintaining a high level of service and productivityParticipate and contribute in process improvements and adhere to the Quality Management SystemAny additional tasks that may be assigned to ensure an efficient, safe, clean and goal oriented work environment
Must be available and willing to work in Valencia, CaliforniaEffective communication/comprehension skills – verbal and written formMath skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accuratelyFamiliar with commonly used practices, concepts and procedures within fieldAbility to present information and respond to questions from management and other departments in a timely and accurate mannerAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and execute solutionsProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) specifically with use on spreadsheets and reporting toolsAbility to work independently and oversee production with minimal supervisionAttention to detail and perform multi-tasks successfullyA certain degree of creativity and innovation is requiredHigh school diploma or GED preferred but not requiredPrevious experience with leading or supervising a team with a minimum of 2 people 2 year minimum of work experience in fulfillment/warehouse environmentOperate lift trucks and pallet jacksAbility to lift up to 15 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionallyMust be able to perform assigned work in a standing posture for extended periods
