About this role
The Maintenance Technician supports operations at Carbel, a leading logistics and distribution provider for the fashion and apparel industry and part of the Arvato family. This role is responsible for maintaining automated material handling equipment inside a high-volume distribution center to ensure continuous flow of product and minimal operational downtime.
This position works directly with conveyors, automated labeling equipment, Jolly machines, and supporting boiler systems. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures in real time and partner with operations to quickly restore productivity on the floor.
YOUR TASKS
Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, motors, and drivesMaintain automated labeling / print & apply systemsService Jolly machines and associated boiler/steam equipmentDiagnose sensor, photo-eye, and communication faultsPerform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE)Respond to equipment stoppages and restore production flow quicklyRead electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams to identify failuresReplace components including belts, rollers, bearings, motors, and pneumatic partsDocument repairs, parts usage, and downtime causesIdentify recurring failures and recommend reliability improvementsFollow lockout/tagout and all safety proceduresSchedule Monday - Friday 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM
Technical or technological degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field OR equivalent hands-on industrial maintenance experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in industrial or specialized equipment maintenance (warehouse, production, or automated equipment preferred)Strong knowledge of electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsExperience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical equipmentAbility to diagnose, repair, and optimize complex automated machinery and material handling equipmentSkilled in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagramsFamiliarity with motors, sensors/photo-eyes, conveyors, and automated equipment preferredExperience using diagnostic tools and maintenance software (CMMS preferred) and generating technical reportsProactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to continuous improvementAvailability for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs as needed in an operating warehouse environmentBilingual in English and Spanish required
