About this role
We are looking for a Lead Platform Engineer who will help define and lead our data platform that includes platform API, web services, data processing pipelines, data security and data warehousing.
YOU WILL:
Work cross-functionally as part of the platform team lead designing/creating/deploying APIs, new data transformations, managing databases, and supporting production operationsLead the creation of tools for infrastructure management, monitoring, and scalabilityCreate an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture to set clear goals, delegate tasks and set deadlinesMonitor team performance and report on metricsLead building and maintaining development and deployment tools for the stackWork with engineering and research teams to architect and deploy their algorithms, provide operational support for or new and existing applications and debugging production issuesCreate, deploy, configure, support and troubleshoot issues with networked application environments OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
8-10+ years of professional software development experience2+ years of professional software development experience with Python2+ years of management experience hiring A players, leading a team of individual contributors, and enabling teams to do their best work3-5 years of experience with architecting cloud platformsSolid CS fundamentals with a range of software development applications and experiencesHands on coding and data engineering experienceExperience creating and managing tools for the infrastructureSolid CS fundamentals combined with a wide range of SW applications and experiencesProven track record of technical leadership in both startups and large companiesStrong background in data platform architectures and following through to implementationsHistory of success in building or improving systems while supporting existing applications and usersNICE TO HAVE:
Experience with MySQL, No SQL, Jenkins, Ansible, Node/JS, iOS developmentExperience implementing TDD, CI/CDExperience developing infrastructure for big data and Machine learningExperience with system monitoring tools and servicesInterest in staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and sports WHAT WE OFFER:
