About this role

The Role

As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 1,000 employees. Working closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager, you will contribute to a reliable and customer-focused payroll function, while supporting benefits administration and ongoing process improvements.

The role is offered on a part time basis of 25 hours per week, to be worked over 5 days, with 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

Support the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, including starters, leavers and contractual changesAdminister statutory payments, pensions and employee benefits in line with UK legislationSource, collate and verify payroll data from multiple systems and sources, ensuring information is accurate, complete and consistentValidate payroll data, carry out thorough checks, and support reconciliations and reporting, investigating discrepancies and escalating issues where neededMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GDPR and company policiesRespond to payroll queries and collaborate with internal teams and external providersContribute to annual reward processes and continuous improvement of payroll practices Previous payroll experience with a solid understanding of UK payroll legislationStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills, with a methodical approach to checking your own work before submissionAdvanced Excel skills are essential, alongside proven experience using payroll/HR and other internal systemsAbility to work confidently across multiple platforms, collating and cross-checking data from different sourcesAbility to learn new systems and processes quicklyEffective communicator with a customer-focused approachDiscreet, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement(A CIPP qualification or willingness to study towards one is advantageous.)
